About Hamantaschen

Hamantaschen is a website that was launched in 2002 in order to serve the Jewish Holiday of Purim celebrators. People usually celebrate Purim with Hamantaschen which can also be spelled Hamantashen. The meaning of Hamantaschen are Haman's "ear" to commemorate the evil Haman who was evil to the Jews during his term. The Jew Mordechai (Mordechai HaYehudi) heard about a plot to kill the King Achashveroush and was honored with great power. When Haman told the king that he wanted to kill Mordechai, Haman actually was hung along with his 10 sons instead. Queen Esther also played the role of timid young woman (also Mordechai's niece) and finally after coaxing was able to muster up the courage to tell the king all about the situation in his own Kingdom.
